Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from families in Bondi Junction
No, Lionheart provides telehealth-only services. This means your child can attend their psychiatric appointment from your Bondi Junction home via secure video call. There is no physical waiting room, no travel through Bondi Junction traffic, and no parking stress at Westfield. Many Bondi families prefer this as it reduces the whole family's pre-appointment anxiety.
Yes! For ADHD assessments, we send a secure online link to your child's teacher for the Vanderbilt Teacher Assessment Scale. Teachers can complete it during their planning time (typically takes 10-15 minutes) and submit directly to us online. No printing, scanning, or faxing required. We've worked with teachers at Bondi Beach PS, Dover Heights PS, Waverley College, and other Eastern Suburbs schools.
After your child's psychiatric assessment, we send a comprehensive report within 5 business days. You can forward this directly to your GP via email, or we can send it on your behalf with your written consent. The report includes DSM-5 diagnosis, treatment recommendations, medication details (if applicable), and monitoring plan. We may also write a brief letter for the school to explain the diagnosis and treatment.
Lionheart does not currently accept NDIS funding directly. However, our comprehensive diagnostic reports (particularly for Autism Spectrum Disorder) are accepted by NDIS for plan applications and reviews. Many Bondi Junction families use our service for the diagnostic assessment (private fee), then use NDIS funding for ongoing allied health support (psychology, OT, speech therapy).
We partner with GPs and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing collaborative care for your young patients.
