Sessions and Fee Schedule

The below highlights our process prior to the initial assessment, information about the Session and Fee Schedule.

1.1 Lionheart Clinic’s 3 Step Process Before the Initial Assessment

  • Psychiatrist reads the case notes and any findings prior to the initial Assessment

Initial Assessment

Day of Assessment

  • Initial Assessment with the clinican

  • Typically the clinicians allocates:

    • 1.5 - 2 hours the initial assessment

    • As well as an additional 1-1.5hours to write notes

For the First Appointment

  • You will have tested all IT equipment downloaded and ready

  • Ensure you are in a private space suitable for a mental health assessment

  • Have an electronic copy of all of your results

1.2 Session formats

1.    The length and format of our Sessions will depend on your Clinician’s assessment of your needs and may

vary depending on how the Clinician thinks they can best help you. 

2.    Our initial Session may include any or be a combination of the following (Initial Session): 

(a)  an initial conversation between the patient and the patient’s parent, guardian or mental case worker;

(b)  a conversation with the parent or guardian alone; and

(c)   a conversation with the patient alone

3.    The patient or guardian must be present at the initial booking

4.    The initial assessment will typically last 1.5 hours with the Clinician, but please allow up to 2 hours

depending on your needs

 

1.3 Fee Schedule - Summary

  • To book an initial assessment, we require a deposit of $1320 (including GST)

  • Review session require a deposit of $560 (including GST)

 

1.4 How Payment Is Processed After The Appointment

1.    Following your Initial Session, your Clinician will determine whether you require further review sessions or if a once off assessment will be suitable for your circumstances; different fees will apply accordingly.

2.    After the appointment, the administration will adjust the final amount and process Medicare.  Then either:

a.    We reimburse you the amount

b.    We ask you for further payment

c.     The breakdown of the fee amount is in the table below

 

Note:

1.    The ‘Gap’ is the ‘out-of-pocket’ amount you pay once your Medicare rebate (if applicable) has been

applied.

2.    If the patient wants the reimbursement from Medicare will require a valid Referral from your GP or

specialist sent to us prior to the appointment. 

  • The letter must be dated on the day of or prior to scheduled appointment with our Lionheart Clinician. 

3.    Please check that Medicare has your right bank details to ensure your payment from Medicare.

Information Gathering Stage

Approx 1-4 weeks to complete

  • Lionheart Clinic’s sends a new website link to the patient, the information/tests required following a meeting with the intake time- with the psychiatrist present

  • Booking time and Zoom link are sent

  • If required, you (the patient, parents or legal guardian) gathers information including performing any tests/gathering any questionairres responses or visiting the GP

    • This may take a few 1-3 weeks to organise, so we highlight suggest you do this ASAP

Strict Deadline (maximum of 2 weeks rior to booked appointment)

  • Lionheart team check all requested information is submitted

You will have submitted to Lionheart Clinic:

  • All requested information

  • Otherwise Appointment will be cancelled
